From the maker of the highly acclaimed, “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” (The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros, comes a new indie film about corruption-seduction drama set in a Christian school for boys, a year before Marcos fell from power.
Debuting with his new name as Kanakan Balintagos, film director Aureus Solito delivers another maestro when ESPRIT de CORPS had its worldwide gala premier last night during the Cinema One Originals Festival 2014 held at Trinoma Cinema.
Here’s the “intriguing” synopsis:
It was the last three weeks of Military training when it was compulsory during the Marcos Dictatorship. The cadets must pass through hell week: grueling physical tests, war games and a final test at the dreaded Interrogations Room!
Many are aspiring for the position of Major Mac Favila. He is every cadet’s ideal officer- sharp, snappy, witty and most of all the most—macho among the school’s officers. Privates Abel Sarmiento and Cain Fujioka are the top contenders for his position.
Will they do anything to get his position? Or will they end the cycle of corruption?
The film stars Sandino Martin (do we get the Coco Martin-in-the-making vibes on him?) is the abused Private Abel—the Un-seduceable! Find out his story along with newcomers JC Santos (who plays the macho Major Mac—the Corruptor! Watch his military corruption tactics in the movie) and Lharby Policarpio (who plays in his first seductive lead role as Private Cain—the seducer! See him seduce another seducer in the movie).
If you missed the premier yesterday night, frown not because “makaka-DATE nyo na mga KADETE” on the following regular screenings. So boys and girls, “Attention!”
